We have an amazing venue at the Lighthouse that supports all kinds of music including Metal, Rock, Indie, Urban, Rockabilly Noise, Fusion and Classical. It holds 400 people and has recently been 'paint jammed' by some of the best Street Artists in Europe. We have a 10k Void Acoustic digital PA and a quality back line run by experienced staff. If you would like to come and play at the Lighthouse we run the venue under 3 strict rules:a) Its a 14 plus venue - this means its a safe space for young people as well as the community to enjoy music and for young bands to perform.
b) We are a music project so we are committed to supporting new and original music.
c) We are strictly no tribute or cover bands but we dont mind if the odd cover song is thrown into a set.
This means that if you come and play at the Lighthouse
a) We and the audience will value your new and original music.b) We will do our bit for promotion whilst you do your's so you can be sure of a good and supportive audience.
c) We can offer you other ways to get your music heard like an interview on our radio station, being part of our between set playlists and being reviewed on our web pages.
a) We try to pay everyone who comes and plays at the Lighthouse. We know in Torbay it is generally only the cover bands that get paid and we think that stinks.
b) How much you get paid will depend on who you are, how long you have been playing and the number of people who come in on the night. We will cover everyone's expenses and we can offer accomodation for bands who are on tour or playing somewhere else the next night.
c) We are lucky as a Non Profit organisation our costs are lower than a normal venue but we still have to break even to keep going.
Promoters
If you are a promoter who needs a venue for a gig on a tour or would like to run a regular night in a venue then so long as you can fit with what we are trying to do at the Lighthouse then we would be happy to work with you.
