A NEW PARTNERSHIP : bloomin' brilliant!

The Lighthouse joined forces with Targeted Youth Support at Torbay Council back in the autumn 2010 to put together a bid for oodles of money from Youth Music ... and today we have found out that the bid was successful!! Whoop Whoop!!

What this means is that we will be bringing what we do at the Lighthouse to different communities around the Bay so more young people can get access to making the kind of music they want to make.

"Hello" from the Lighthouse!!

So ... we've finally got round to getting a blog for the Lighthouse (woo hoo!!)

For anyone who doesnt know yet the Lighthouse is the awesome new young peoples music hub for Torbay. Its all about getting young people into music whether its coming along to some of our amazing gigs and events or getting involved in music activities and workshops. 

One very important thing though : this isnt school! The Lighthouse is about young people learning the skills they need to make the music they want to create! So if you want to bang out some scream metal or dub step we've got the people and the facilities to help you do it. 

We also know that not everyone wants to be a performer but they still want to be involved in music. So we have a range of projects that dont come any where close to stage fright like the Young Promoters Club where you can use the venue to plan and put on your own gigs to learning all about being a radio, TV or webzine star with Fog Media.
